Monthly Update,  Our Literate Life

Monthly Book Log Blog {September 2017}

Our log looks lopsided this month. I don’t mind. We’re enjoying so many wonderful stories together. We are in a nighttime routine of reading chapter books together after a picture book or two with little brother. Annd, Preschool Bookworm reads a story TO ME from our delightful All About Reading readers (aff) that are part of our homeschool reading program. (aff) #melt

Books
Up,  Up, & Away (Digby O’Day series) We love this early chapter book series! At about 140 pages with illustrations on every page and a quick moving plot, it’s a winner!

Winter of the Ice Wizard (Magic Tree House)

Forget-Me-Not Lake (Sophie Mouse series)  We’ve also been loving the Sophie Mouse series! Sweet stories that often mix in STEAM concepts, amidst warm tales of friendship and family, along with Illustrations and short chapters.

The Maple Festival (Sophie Mouse series)

Here We All Are (26 Fairmont Avenue series) This is the second of Tomie dePaola’s biography series. It’s nice to have a biography for a change of genre pace.

Audiobooks

Tumtum & Nutmeg: A Seaside Adventure After falling in love last month with Tumtum & Nutmeg in their first story, we similarly enjoyed this exciting tale of their next adventure!

We’re 2/3 of the way through 101 Dalmatians. One of our longest (besides the Wizard of Oz) at around 4 hours.
