Heirloom Board Books for Babies and Toddlers

As I was cleaning my 3.5yo Bookworm’s room I realized that his bin of board books hasn’t been getting much love lately. (Let’s not discuss my emotional state as I write this post.) These titles have been adored for the past 6 or so years, many of which contain inscriptions “To Baby Bookworm,” still nameless and gifted at his baby shower. The books in this beloved bin have been woven into the fabric of our family’s vocabulary, are attached to some of our most precious memories of the baby years, and really are timeless.

I’ve already purged a good chunk so this is really a basket of TREASURES of the board book world. (You can read about how I organize our home library here and here.) What remains are titles that I will never throw away. Another generation and more could certainly enjoy these tales.  Don’t the best heirlooms have bite marks? 😉

Before they make their way to whatever storage area I decide I can handle placing them in, I thought I would share the list of titles with you! Shower gifts, first birthday presents, first holidays, milestones, or just a regular old Tuesday when you need an addition to your Baby Bookworm’s library… these are winners!

These books have been stored in what we in the Bookworm house call the Short Books Basket. You can read more about how we utilize this area here, but basically it is a tool in our parenting arsenal for time management, allowing independence within our boundaries. It’s been a #parentingwin for years now when it comes to that short window of time before naptime and bedtime especially.
