Summertime Poetry & Popsicles

We enjoy poetry teatime throughout the year, but those “teatimes” shift into poetry with a side of various cooler treats in the summertime! Most often, we enjoy Poetry & Popsicles, or sometimes Poetry & Milkshakes!

What a great time of year to start a sweet poetry tradition, gathering on a picnic blanket, enjoying a popsicle and some fun poetry! See my post here for tips on getting started with “Poetry Teatime.” My kids especially thrive on having a regular poetry session each week– they have come to expect Poetry Teatime on Friday afternoons 🙂

I’ll usually make a big batch of homemade pops in our silicone push pop molds (I do like having the 8 count!) and when those run out, we’ll pull from the store made ones (we like the Good Pop brand, which we buy at Costco and Whole Foods). The kids couldn’t care less which one they get! I don’t have a real “recipe”– I’ll usually just blend fruit with a splash of coconut milk.

We have enjoyed the poetry books below year after year! I’ll add to this post as we come across new favorites, too.
