Opening Day for Bookworms and Baseball Fans

It’s baseball’s opening day! We aren’t big sportsing people in the Bookworm home. My own sportsing dialogue would sound something like this: But baseball’s opening day has a specialness about it. It screams SPRING is here! And, since I’ve found…

Action Rhymes: There’s More to Literacy than Books

Just a juicy bookstack for you, medieval themed. 🤩 Just a juicy bookstack for you, medieval themed. 🤩I read dozens of novels to preview for the upcoming school year and these are the ones that made the cut! Some for book club, some for family read aloud, some for independent reading if we have time! Annotations of each are up on my blog. Link in bio 👀
A perfect book for patterns! My youngest (3.5) is A perfect book for patterns! My youngest (3.5) is loving this book, and I’m happy that she’s playing with patterns! There are several explored in this short book, with the opportunity to guess the next item in the pattern on the following page.

Our math curriculum works with patterns early on (LOVE @rightstartmathematics ) but we are still just providing some exposure for my little one. We will revisit this one later on, too.

7th grade homeschool curriculum picks! A lot of co 7th grade homeschool curriculum picks! A lot of continuation of what’s been working, with increased independence (🙌) Find the link in my bio to all the details. A few fave highlights:
📓We love @rightstartmathematics at this age as it shifts to be student self-study with self assessment baked in. We have used this curriculum from kindergarten and every level has been so good! (Spoken by an English major/librarian/non-mathy person 😅)
📓Excited to add logic to the mix with The Fallacy Detective
