Cozy Winter Picture Books

Last winter we officially had 0.4″ of snow, according to a google search. In my kids’ memory, it was 4 snowflakes total. What a bummer! In my area, we don’t typically get a lot of snow, but we can usually count on one or two measurable storms. This year is looking similarly disappointing so far. Lo and behold, we looked out the window this morning and strained to see… YES! Snow! It didn’t amount to anything, but it was enough to dance around in for five minutes or so!

That was all the encouragement I needed to pull out our pile of favorite snowy picture books! We read a stack of these while creating Cinnamon Tortilla Snowflakes, our favorite snowy tradition. Fold and cut tortillas just like paper snowflakes; then cover in melted butter (or Earth Balance, in our case), sprinkle with cinnamon and a pinch of sugar, bake at 400 for 8-12 minutes. (They’ll crisp up a bit after you take them out of the oven.)

These 10 are additions to my earlier post 20 Favorite Winter Picture Books, which has more of a nature theme.
