    Our Summer of Playing Skillfully {Curriculum}

    There were shouts of “hallelujah!” the year that A Summer of Playing Skillfully was released. Our family had followed the “school year” curriculum for September through May for the three years prior, and I knew without hesitation that I wanted…

    Monthly Book Log {November & December 2018, Age 5.5}

    It’s times like this I’m so glad I’ve kept up with blogging! There’s something nostalgic about the last days of the year, looking back at what we’ve read over the months. In the last two months of 2018 we snuggled…

    Christmas Poetry Teatime Books

    We love Poetry Teatime around here, but for all of our good intentions, it got pushed to the side too often this Fall. December has seen the sweetest resurgence and truthfully it’s been just what we needed. It’s calming and centering…

    Rooted Childhood Curriculum Review

    Predictably, I read my kids piles of books every day. We max out library cards and completed 1000 Books Before Kindergarten in practically a few weeks. BUT, they are woefully lacking in basic craft experiences. Truthfully, I took my toddlers…

A perfect book for patterns! My youngest (3.5) is A perfect book for patterns! My youngest (3.5) is loving this book, and I’m happy that she’s playing with patterns! There are several explored in this short book, with the opportunity to guess the next item in the pattern on the following page.

Our math curriculum works with patterns early on (LOVE @rightstartmathematics ) but we are still just providing some exposure for my little one. We will revisit this one later on, too.

7th grade homeschool curriculum picks! A lot of co 7th grade homeschool curriculum picks! A lot of continuation of what’s been working, with increased independence (🙌) Find the link in my bio to all the details. A few fave highlights:
📓We love @rightstartmathematics at this age as it shifts to be student self-study with self assessment baked in. We have used this curriculum from kindergarten and every level has been so good! (Spoken by an English major/librarian/non-mathy person 😅)
📓Excited to add logic to the mix with The Fallacy Detective
